A policeman accused of failing to help a woman who was later assaulted has been found to be guilty of gross misconduct.
Stephen Kerr had seen the victim taken outside Dover Working Men's Club by her boyfriend during a row but did not follow, saying he believed she was in no danger.
But shortly afterwards her head was pushed against a car windscreen by her assailant.
The allegation that he had failed to intervene properly was proven, along with one that he provided an inaccurate statement afterwards.
At a hearing today, PC Kerr was found by a disciplinary panel to have breached three standards: duties and responsibilities, honesty and integrity and discreditable conduct.
He had denied all accusations.
A Kent Police misconduct panel gave its verdict today after a three-day tribunal at Kent Police Headquarters in Maidstone.
The case had stemmed from the incident at the club in London Road on October 23, 2019.
