ANDY HESSENTHALER picked up the Division 1 South Manager of the Year award at the Ryman League annual awards presentation in Sussex on Saturday.
Hessenthaler, chairman Jim Parmenter and assistant manager Darren Hare were also presented with the league trophy at the function, as the Crabble club reflected on a successful season at the function held at the Effingham Park Hotel near Gatwick Airport.
The squad return on July 3, with Hessenthaler admitting things are "quiet at the moment" on the transfer front.
He had talks with a centre forward on Tuesday night who may be involved in pre-season training but says his biggest priority is confirming whether midfielder Alan Pouton is staying at the club.
Hessenthaler said: "I need to talk to him to find out what his plans are. He has been away up North but I hope to speak with him in the next couple of days."
Meanwhile, Mr Parmenter has told fans he wants a top three finish in the Ryman League Premier Division next season.
He made his views clear in a wide-ranging question and answer session on the club’s website, when asked where he realistically expected the club to finish next season.
Meanwhile, the Supporters Club are organising three Working Weekends at Crabble ahead of the new season. They will involve painting and other general tidying up around the ground.
Organiser Paul Harrison said: "With the work that is going on at the Centre Spot, Directors Box and Hospitality Area, the club would appreciate it if as many supporters as possible could help.
"We are planning three sessions on Saturday, June 28, Sunday, June 29 and Sunday, July 13 from 10am-3pm. Anyone who can help should contact Paul on 07771 846766.
