Holidaymakers bound for the continent are caught up in queues from the Port of Dover stretching up to 10 miles.
Port bound traffic is choking the town of Dover and spreading past Folkestone and towards Coldred.
Kent Highways released warnings early this morning that traffic management measure, Dover TAP, is now in place leading to a wall of queuing trucks on the left hand lane of the M20, and port approach dual carriageway the A20.

Heavy queues are also stacking up along the A2 from Whitfield to Jubilee Way.
It means motorists have attempted to avoid the delays by travelling through town. But these pictures taken at 8.30am show mayhem is mounting along the one way street Maison Dieu Road.
The Port of Dover has tweeted that travellers should expect delays due to the large volumes of traffic making their way to the continent for the summer holidays.
And it could get worse on the M20 as the M2 between Brenley Corner and Sheppey are to close for about 28 hours from 8pm tonight.
A statement from Kent County Council Highways and Transportation department said: "There is queuing traffic heading towards the Port of Dover, this is due to high volumes of passenger traffic heading to the Port of Dover this morning.
"There is slow moving traffic on the A2 Coastbound between Whitfield Roundabout and the Port of Dover and there is queuing traffic on the A256 Woolcomber Street traffic between Charlton Green and A20.
"Expect delays in the area."
9.38am An update from Kent Highways has since revealed traffic is queuing as far as Coldred on the A2. There is queuing traffic on the A256 between Crabble Road and A20 and also on the A258 Castle Hill Road heading toward A256 Maison Dieu Road (pictured) and queues also exist on the B2011 Folkestone road and York Street heading towards A20.
P&O Ferries is responding to tweets confirming sailings are running late and they will load traffic onto the next available sailing.

11am Eurotunnel is experiencing delays of up to one hour. It is not known whether these are due to the situation on the M20/A20
11.20am P&O Ferries confirm they are laying on extra sailings and expect their services to return to normal by tomorrow.
The firm's head of communications Dan Bridges said: “We can confirm delays of up to three hours. We’re advising passengers to allow plenty of time for travel.
“We shall be laying on additional sailings this evening and expect the backlog to have cleared by tomorrow."
Mr Bridges confirmed P&O’s delays stem from technical issues going back to Thursday. Those issues are resolved and it is just the backlog they are working to clear.
11.27 Eurotunnel confirms its delay is due to a problem with a loader wagon earlier in the morning. The delay is not due to the traffc.
3.21 Kent Highways announced The M2 will now remain open tomorrow (Sunday).
It was previously announced the road would close from 8pm tonight (Saturday) for roadworks on the Londonbound carriageway between Junction 7 of the A2 (Brenley Corner) and Junction 5 of the A249 (Sittingbourne / Stockbury Roundabout). It is not known if this is to remedy the slopw moving traffic on the M20, previously advertised as the diversion for port bound traffic owing to the planned roadworks.
5.39 Traffic stretched beyond Junction 13 of the M20 and motorists reported they had been stuck in traffic for two hours. Routes around Dover were ‘struggling’ according to Inrix speed sensors.
