An impressive new image taken from a huge crane reveals a bird’s eye view of a developing construction site below.
The piece of machinery will remain in place for at least another 12 months in Bench Street, Dover, where work is underway for the multimillion-pound Dover Beacon project.
Dover District Council (DDC) is behind the development, which is expected to deliver more than £90 million of economic benefit.
The new building will include an education campus providing training opportunities in creative and digital industries, a business centre providing flexible, affordable facilities for start-ups and small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and a creative centre.
A small riverside park will also be created.
In order to make way for the new building, several others were demolished. This included former beloved The Funky Monkey nightclub.
The nearby four-storey building that was previously home to Dover’s famous Banksy Brexit mural was also torn down.
Construction for the ambitious project started in November last year, and by this summer, the building’s frame and floors should be in place.

A spokesman for DDC said: “The crane is now installed and operating on site.
“The building frame and concrete floors installation will follow and by the end of summer 2025 the frame is due to be in place.
“The development crane will be visible in the Dover skyline until February 2026.”
Planning permission for the scheme was approved in July 2024 and archaeological works were completed in September.
It is expected to be finished in spring 2026, when the centre is set to be handed to tenant businesses and organisations for fitting out works.
The Beacon project has been part-funded by the government, with £18.1 million coming from the Levelling Up Fund. A further £3.2 million has come from the Future Hight Streets fund.
