Detainee caused fire at Immigration Removal Centre, Dover, resulting in two being injured

An inmate is suspected of causing a fire at Dover Immigration Removal Centre, which resulted in two injuries.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called at 7pm last night to the centre on Dover's Western Heights.

A spokeswoman said: "We were called by when we arrived the fire was out so we didn't need to do anything."

Two appliances were sent from Dover Fire Station.

The stop call was sent at 7.22pm. Firefighters remained to help with ventilation.
