Job seekers can meet with prospective employers at a special recruitment fair in Dover today (Friday).

Dover Town Hall is set to be stacked out with businesses within the district and east Kent from 10am to 3pm.

It is the fourth year running that MP Charlie Elphicke has organised the event.

He said: “More jobs and money in our part of Kent is a priority for us all.

"The Dover Jobs Fair is about putting this into real action by bringing together jobseekers and local employers.

“Dover is full of talented, aspirational people trying to get on the jobs ladder for the first time, looking for a new job or thinking about changing their career path.

"But taking that initial step isn’t always easy.”

The Conservative said that the focus of this year is all about training and to get people involved in apprenticeships.

"This year I have made a change," he said.

"The event will still have companies with jobs but the main concern locally is training.

"Come along and join in one of the information sessions or work groups to see how training in the workplace can help you in your job search."
