Music was the therapy administered by a local entertainer to ward off the isolation blues.
John Beeks - aka Johnny B - attracted more than 20,800 views in 24 hours when his partner streamed his live set to his Facebook followers on Easter Sunday from outside his Dover home.
The musical fiesta started on his doorstep in Stanhope Road the previous Sunday to boost morale. A and after demands of a repeat performance, a second sing-a-long boosted Bank Holiday spirits - and his facebook profile.
The team leader at Tesco said: “It started last Sunday when I did a chilled out disco then a neighbour asked ‘why don’t you go and do a singing set outside’.”
Just like his first, the second show the following week came after he joine the national Dance on your Doorstep trend at 7pm, boogying to S Club 7’s Reach for the Stars.
The 44 year-old added: “I then did an hour. It went crazy and loads of people logged on Facebook Live.
“I had a thousand people but then we lost the feed.”
They logged back on and viewings were registered in America, Australia, Sweden and Germany.
Viewings were helped by coverage from the national media whose stories directed traffic to the entertainer’s feed.
Comments received after both gigs described his gesture as “uplifting” and helping make isolation much more bearable.
“I was told that little old ladies in my street were singing along at their windows.
“I got a text from someone saying her mum had been isolated for weeks and my singing really lifted her spirits.”
People keep asking for songs and to give a shout out to nurses and people who work for the NHS.
Mr Beeks raised £100 on Sunday for the NHS.
He will be doing another set on Sunday if the weather is pleasant.
