Kapow! Both Batman and Robin are coming to Dover.
Biff! They will appear as life-sized LEGO models.
Blatt! They are there for the latest store opening at the new St James' Retail and Leisure Park.
The Dynamic Duo will be there for unveiling at The Entertainer toy store.
That is now confirmed from 9am on Saturday, September 15.
Just before the opening there will be a trolley dash for children and families who are helped by Home-Start Dover District.
Entertainment goes on from 10am to 4pm with the Caped Crusaders present all that time.
There will also be a balloon modeller, in store demos and take part in several giveaways and competitions as well as meeting The Entertainer’s own character Jack.
Craig Lowe, events coordinator at The Entertainer added: “We are really looking forward to The Entertainer’s grand opening event in Dover. It’ll be great for the children to meet some of their favourite life-sized characters and have their picture taken.”
Home-Start Dover District, a local charity, provides practical and emotional support to families in their own homes, through the role of a volunteer. Volunteers visit for 2-3 hours every week for up to 6 months.
Scheme manager, Tracy Perrow said: “We’re so happy to have been chosen by The Entertainer to take part in the charity trolley dash. We’re all about helping our families to make special memories together and the dash will certainly be one of those. I’m sure the children will be really excited to explore the store and take some new toys home with them.”
The Entertainer store will be in a 2,960 sq ft unit and is expected to be followed by the opening of Burger King.
The unveiling date for that is expected to be announced later.
The 157,000sq ft, £53.25 million complex at Woolcomber Street was officially opened on August 11.
But the first business, Cineworld, moved in on March 9 and leading brand names have followed since such as Travelodge, M&S, Superdrug and Costa Coffee.
