A crash between two lorries blocked the A2 London-bound near Dover, causing severe delays to motorists.
Pictures showed police at the scene of the crash, which caused the entire carriageway to close for around two hours.
Kent County Council Highways confirmed emergency services were in attendance alongside Highways England.
They have now confirmed that the road has been cleared, and any remaining delays should now be minimal.
A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 9.53am following a collision involving two lorries on the A2 London-bound between the Duke of York’s Roundabout and the Whitfield Roundabout in Dover.
"Officers are in attendance and no serious injuries have been reported but the road is currently closed due to the carriageway being blocked.
"Motorists are advised to expect delays while work to clear the carriageway continues."
This is the second crash on the A2 motorway in less than 24 hours, after a three car crash gridlocked the coast-bound carriageway near Gravesend last night.
