Today's ‘Love Your Liver’ liver screening roadshow in Dover has been postponed.

The UK’s liver health charity, the British Liver Trust, had planned to bring its mobile health screener to the town today (Monday) to help people assesses their potential for liver damage but coronavirus lockdown has stalled the plans.

The non invasive scanner checks against the three main risk factors of alcohol, obesity and viral hepatitis.

If the results show a potential risk of liver damage, participants are offered a non-invasive liver check with a FibroScan machine.

Jonathan Worsfold, Project Delivery Manager at the British Liver Trust, said:

“We hope to rearrange and visit Dover with the roadshow in the near future and we’ll be following the latest Government guidelines at all times.

“People often don’t realise they have a liver condition until it’s too late, so in the meantime I would urge everyone to visit the British Liver Trust website to find out about how to keep their liver healthy.”
