Two men have been arrested after a serious head-on crash involving a lorry and a car.

The accident happened on the A2 Jubilee Way in Dover just before midnight. The road was closed between the A258 and A20 for almost nine hours.

Police said a black Nissan QashQai travelling up Jubilee Way collided head-on with a yellow lorry travelling down the road, near the entrance to the Eastern Docks.

Emergency services including the police, firefighters, paramedics and the air ambulance were called to the scene.

The crash is being investigated by the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, which is appealing for witnesses.

A 36-year-old man and a 51-year-old man were arrested.

No details have been issued about whether anyone was injured.
