A major route is blocked in both directions after a crash involving a lorry and a car.

Police are at the scene of the accident at the A265, Whitfield roundabout, near Dover, following the collision just after 3pm this afternoon.

According to reports from travel news agency Inrix, the A2 is now heavily blocked in both directions.

A police spokesperson said: “Police was called to a report of a collision involving a lorry and a car at the Whitfield Roundabout near Dover.

“Officers are currently in attendance assisting with traffic management and the recovery of the vehicles.”

No serious injuries have been reported.
