A man is due to appear in court following the stabbing of an 18-year-old woman.

Terry Tunbridge, 20, of MacDonald Road, Dover, was arrested and charged with wounding with intent.

He is due to appear before Medway magistrates today.

The incident happened on Tuesday afternoon in MacDonald Road, Dover.

The air ambulance was called out and the victim was taken to a London hospital with a stab wound to the chest.

Her condition is described as stable.

Police had at first sealed off the area's main road, Coombe Valley Road, but then pinpointed the assault to an address in MacDonald Road.
