Man charged over Dover stabbing

A man has been charged with attempted murder following the stabbing of a 24-year-old man in Dover in the early hours of Thursday July 31.

William James Joseph Wilson, aged 28, unemployed, from St Leonard's on Sea was arrested in the early hours of Wednesday November 5.

He was charged with attempted murder and appeared at Dover Magistrates Court on Friday, where he was remanded in custody.

He will next appear at Maidstone Crown Court on November 24 for a plea and direction hearing.

Mr Wilson, who is originally from Glasgow, was living in Dover at the time of the attack.

The victim, Michael Brankley, from Dover, was attacked at the junction of London Road and Tower Hamlets Road. He underwent extensive surgery for his injuries from which he is still recovering.
