A man has been charged with child abduction after he allegedly tried to leave the country with a 15-year-old.

Gabriel Alexandru was arrested after a routine vehicle check at the Port of Dover on Sunday night.

He has also been charged with sexual activity with a child.

The 20-year-old, from Bordesley Green in Birmingham, is due to appear at Medway Magistrates' Court today.
