Police face an independent investigation into the circumstances of how a man came to be seriously injured after a suspected fall from a home.
The force was called to Godwyne Close in Dover just after 5.30pm yesterday to reports there was a disturbance.
Officers went inside and then found a man lying on the ground.
A police spokesman confirmed he had suffered serious injuries 'consistent with a fall from height' and was rushed to a London hospital for treatment.
An investigation has been launched into the disturbance and how the man was injured.
The force has also made a mandatory referral of the case to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC). This referral can happen when someone is injured during the course of an incident attended by police, even if the person involved did not come into contact with any officers.
No further details about this specific incident have been released.
People reported seeing a cordon in place for most of the night in Maison Dieu Road, which runs parallel with Godwyne Close, with witnesses saying four squad cars and an ambulance were stationed at the scene.
