A man who allowed dog mess to build up in his garden now has an £880 court bill.
Richard Fooks, 27, was eventually prosecuted after neighbours complained and he failed to clear the land despite a council demands.
Fooks, of Tower Hill, Dover, was sentenced by Canterbury magistrates.
Dover District Council brought the prosecution and a spokesman said: “The council received complaints about the build-up of dog mess and waste in Mr Fooks’ garden in late 2015.
“The council wrote to Mr Fooks a number of times, and served a community protection notice, requiring the land to be cleared, and requiring him to prevent further build-up.
“The problem persisted so Mr Fooks was prosecuted.“
Fooks pleaded guilty by post to seven breaches of a community protection notice.
He was ordered to pay £100 per offence along with costs of £150 and a £30 victim surcharge.
