A 62-year-old man has been remanded in custody after being charged with indecency offences that date back nearly 30 years.

Elwin End, 62, of Lower Road, Temple Ewell, Dover, is accused of four counts of gross indecency with girls aged under 16 and four counts of indecent assault on girls under 16.

All the offences, said to involve four girls, were alleged to have been committed between 1977 and 1983.

End appeared before magistrates in Folkestone and was remanded until December 20.
