Man's jaw broken in street robbery

DETECTIVES are investigating after a 56-year-old man was attacked and robbed in Dover.

The victim was walking on a grassy area between the Britannia pub and the Light of India restaurant in Townwall Street when he was approached from behind and punched.

He fell to the floor but managed to get up and get himself home, although he had suffered a broken jaw. He later realised that his mobile phone and money were missing.

The robbery happened at around 11.20pm on Thursday. olice would like to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious, and witnesses are asked to contact them on Dover (01304) 240055, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
