A migrant has been plucked from the water after trying to swim the Channel.
French authorities say he was spotted by a fishing boat called No Stress.
The man was seen at about 5.30am with flippers and a buoy in the water.
He was located just over three miles north of Calais and picked up by a French coastguard dinghy at 6.30am.
He was found to be suffering from slight hypothermia.
The French coastal authority for the Channel and North Sea, Préfecture Maritime de la Manche et de la mer du Nord, say he was brought back to the Port of Calais and dealt with by border police.
Meanwhile reports are emerging of a number of suspected migrant incidents off the British coast.
The Home Office said this afternoon that it was dealing with three small boat cases off Kent and Sussex.
