Multi million pound funding from developers for planning applications agreed in 2020/21 is to bring major benefits to communities across Dover district.
This includes £3.5million for areas such as education, housing, health, sports and open spaces.
There are also non-monetary contributions such planning commitments for 108 affordable housing units, and areas of open space land.
The homes are at Cross Road and Freemans Way, in Deal, Orchard View and west of Saunders Lane in Ash, Barnsole Road and Durlock Road in Staple and the former Kumor Nursery and Dover Road, in Sandwich.
Dover District Council’s Cabinet approved the Infrastructure Funding Statement the year at its meeting on Monday.
The statement, which is required by the Government, provides a summary of developer contributions, secured through Section 106 agreements.
These are planning obligations for developers to provide financial and non-financial contributions to support new developments and offset their impacts.
A range of key planning obligations agreed for 2020/21 includes:
Towards secondary education £1,510,235 and £906,546 for primary education.
Towards the provision of affordable housing £276,500.
NHS contributions £163,425.
Towards open spaces management £161,000.
Towards outdoor sports £99,270.
Cllr Nicholas Kenton, DDC cabinet member for planning, regeneration and development said: “People often ask where the infrastructure is to support new developments.
" This statement helps people to see what developers contribute to the district as major developments take shape.
"We work hard to secure the right infrastructure for the community to build a better future for the district.”
