KENT Police have now made a total of 20 arrests following an operation to target the supply and use of class A drugs in the Dover area on Tuesday morning.

Fifteen people have been charged with a total of 133 alleged offences.

Fourteen of them have been remanded in custody to appear before Folkestone magistrates today.

The other person has been released on bail to appear before Folkestone magistrates tomorrow.

Two men have been formally cautioned, one for supplying class A drugs and one for allowing his premises to be used for the supply of class A drugs.

Two men were released on bail pending further enquiries and one man was arrested for alleged immigration offences and handed over to the UK Immigration Service.

Dawn raids were carried out at 24 addresses in Dover following close community work by Kent Police, which generated information about local drug users and networks.

Area Commander Steve Harris said he believed Tuesday's operation had had a massive impact on the supply of class A drugs, such as cocaine and heroin, in the Dover area.

The "rat on a rat" campaign previously run by Kent Police is being re-introduced around South Kent to encourage better public engagement with police. Families, friends, neighbours and colleagues are all being urged to tell the police of anyone involved in the supply and use of drugs in South Kent.
