A Kent Police spokesman confirmed officers were called just after 3pm to the smash.

He said: "The incident caused the road to become blocked and a closure was enforced in both directions to ensure the safety of all road users.

"Officers attended alongside the South East Coast Ambulance Service and a woman, who was riding pillion on the bike, has been conveyed to a London hospital.

"The road had fully reopened by 5pm."
