MP Charlie Elphicke has visited the scene where 36 people were rescued from the tide.
The Dover and Deal MP viewed Langdon Bay where the group, including 34 children, were saved in the largest single local rescue in a decade.
He praised the Dover and Walmer crews for their efforts in the mission and the constant work of the RNLI in saving lives at sea.
He said: “I really enjoyed the opportunity to be able to see first hand some of the truly great work the Dover and Walmer lifeboat crews do helping keep people safe along our cost.
“I want to thank all of the volunteers who give their time to provide this vital service.
“It is important we are all diligent in the water and on our beaches.
“The RNLI does wonderful work, but many of the rescues they carry out each year could be easily prevented.”
The group were trapped on June 6 by the rising tide as they walked along the bottom of the cliffs between Dover and St Margaret’s Bay. They were also obstructed by rocks falling in their path.
The group failed to climb the path to the safety of the clifftop.
They were saved in a major operation, which also involved the Coastguard helicopter from Lydd, Langdon Coastguard Rescue and about 40 volunteers.
The group of London Jews, from the Avhas Yisrael Community Centre, afterwards thanked their rescuers by donating £5,000 to Dover RNLI.
The station said this had probably been the only rescue of its kind from the Dover shoreline.
