Pedestrians had a lucky escape this morning when a mystery explosion took place in Dover.
A heavy drain cover was blown into the air outside Woolworth's store in Biggin Street, and black smoke poured out.
Town centre police officer PC Ashley Price cordoned off the area while engineers were called in to try and determine the cause of the blast.
It was followed by a series of sporadic power cuts affecting various shops and businesses in the area.
