There have been 12 incidents involving a total 189 asylum seekers in two days.
The Home Office said that the UK authorities dealt with six events involving 132 people yesterday.
Meanwhile the French prevented six attempted crossings overnight on Monday and yesterday morning involving an estimated 57 people.
A Home Office spokesman said: “More than 2,000 people have been prevented from making dangerous crossings so far this year thanks to close work with France and we have also secured more than 60 small boat related prosecutions since the start of 2020.
“This is a significant challenge and there is more work to be done.
"Our New Plan for Immigration will break the business model of people smugglers who put lives at risk by facilitating dangerous journeys into the UK and overhaul our broken asylum system.”
This complex social problem took another development yesterday when it was revealed that hundreds of asylum seekers are expected to move into the controversial Napier Barracks in Folkestone.
This is despite concerns about living conditions and Covid-19 outbreaks.
MPs, charities and the residents themselves have all called for the camp to close.
