People said no to hate and yes to unity as they joined a commemoration of the life of MP Jo Cox.
Crowds gathered at the Archcliffe Fort base of Emmaus Dover yesterday (Saturday) for one of the many Great Get Togethers in the country in honour of the murdered MP.
They are to unite people in celebrating all they have in common as a community.
The Dover homelessness charity held a Solidarity Day and Community Lunch where guests enjoyed food, cakes and an afternoon of fun activities.
This was one of more than 100,000 Great Get Togethers planned nationwide for the first anniversary of the Labour MP’s death.
Mrs Cox, 41, was shot and stabbed in her constituency of Batley and Spen in West Yorkshire on June 16 last year.
