Sgt Ingram, who officially leaves the forces after 16 years next Monday, was joined on the day by his regiment’s recruiting team.
Among the first to go through the tough obstacles were students from a course called Impact, based at Sir John Moore Barracks in Folkestone. This is for 16 to 14-year-olds considering joining the army.
The course has been set up by the fitness programmes business MY/PT and begun in full last Monday with sessions held seven days a week.
The sessions are for all abilities and levels of experience and range from the more basic forms of training to full battle-style physical training.
All session are specifically tailored to improve fitness levels and will include military-style challenges.
Lorraine Cheesmur, Betteshanger Park general manager, said: “We’re really excited about MY/PT.It will put many people through their paces and help work off the excess of Christmas.
“They will get muddy and sweaty and they’ll be pushed to their limits but it is guaranteed to improve fitness and work off hundreds of calories.”
