Shoplifting suspects charged following spate of thefts at Aldi and Co-Op in Dover and Home Bargains in Ramsgate

Shoplifting suspects have been charged following a spate of reported thefts from Co-op, Aldi and Home Bargains stores.

Alanah Huggins and Reece Anderson, both of no fixed address, are accused of stealing from the shops located in Dover and Ramsgate.

The pair appeared in court to face charges linked to incidents at the Co-op in Crabble Hill, Dover on August 27 and August 28, stealing food from Aldi in Cherry Tree Avenue in Dover on September 1.

They were also in the dock for the alleged theft of laundry detergent worth £52 from Home Bargains in Ramsgate on September 30.

Huggins, 37, is also accused of two further counts of stealing from the Co-op on August 26 and August 28, as well as theft from Aldi on September 1.

Anderson, 35, has also been charged with three counts of aiding and abetting theft from shops and one count of assaulting a member of staff on September 30.

They appeared at Margate Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Huggins was remanded in custody to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on October 20.

Anderson was released on bail and is due to appear at Margate Magistrates’ Court on November 24.
