KENT Police have recovered a substantial amount of copper pieces at a farm in Sutton near Deal, thought to have been stolen during a robbery in Dover on Tuesday, October 3.
More than £20,000 worth of copper was found at the farm three days later. Officers believe is just over a fifth of the £100,000 worth of property stolen.
Police are continuing with their investigations to identify the three men who attacked a lorry driver at Charlwood Ltd, which is in the Portzone at Old Park, Whitfield near Dover.
The lorry driver was walking towards his lorry when he was approached by two men who dragged him to the side of another lorry and took his keys and mobile phone. He was then hit in the face.
A third man then appeared carrying an iron bar who then tied the man’s hands together and threatened him with the bar.
The men then used the tractor unit from the lorry driver’s vehicle to steal the trailer loaded with 26 tonnes of copper.
All three offenders were wearing black ski masks and black clothing.
The stolen lorry and trailer were later discovered in Willow Wood just west of the A256 near the Tilmanstone roundabout.
