A parrot that can imitate a dog’s bark has gone missing.

Luca, an African grey, can also speak a few words, such as the names of those in his household.

But now he has vanished an his owner Tracy Lukins, is desperate to find him.

He was last seen at his family home at The Linces in Dover at about 8am last Saturday.

Ms Lukins said: “My Yorkshire terrier has a very distinct bark and Luca can imitate him spot on.

“Sometimes you can’t tell if the sound is Luca'a or the dog's.

“I understand some people say it’s just a parrot but to use he is family and we miss him so much. Please ring if you think you’ve seen him.”

Posters with Ms Lukins’ phone numbers have been put up in the neighbourhood to help find him.

There have been reported sightings of Luca since he disappeared but he is still not back home.

He was once seen still in The Linces area and also at a nearby allotment.

Luca is just 21 months old, his body is all-grey and he has red tail feathers.

Ms Lukins says he is a loud bird but still shy with strangers.
