A plucky pensioner threw her cup of tea at an intruder after he burst into her home and demanded money.
The would-be robber entered the elderly woman's home in Colorado Close, Dover, after she let her dog out and left the back door open.
Wielding an object thought to be a knife in his right hand, the suspect demanded cash.
But the fiesty woman, aged in her 70s, told him she did not have any and threw her drink over him.
He then ran out of the house through the back door.
The attempted robbery happened at around 10.10pm yesterday.
The suspect is described as a white man, around 5ft 4in tall and of medium build. He was wearing grey jogging bottoms and a dark coloured hooded top, and spoke with a southern English accent.
