Police called to disturbance in Cannon Street, Dover

Police have arrested a man on suspicion of assault in Dover town centre today (Thursday).

Officers were called to Cannon Street at 12.12pm to reports of a disturbance.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: "A man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and criminal damage."

A police van and car were spotted by shoppers in the centre.
