Murder probe continues after body found at Cowgate Cemetery, Dover

Police investigating a murder in a cemetery two days ago are continuing their inquiries.

Two people remain in custody after a body was found at Cowgate Cemetery, Albany Place, Dover at 7am on Tuesday.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "No one has been charged. The two arrested remain in police custody."

This morning and last night, a police presence was still guarding the scene.

On Tuesday, Officers, conducting their initial inquiries, cordoned the area off while officers from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate combed the scene.

Residents living nearby were in shock when the news broke. One, who did not want to be named, told Kentonline: "I don't know what is behind this but I don't feel safe walking around the area at night."

Police say there are no further updates they can issue at present but officers are appealing for information.
