Police are working with shops and residents in Whitfield to reduce the number of nuisance youths causing problems in the area.

Over the last couple of weeks there have been reports of anti-social behaviour at B&M Bargains and Homebase on the White Cliffs Business Park.

On Thursday, November 5, a resident in Mayfield Road contacted police over on-going issues with teenagers throwing stones and banging on residents’ windows.

There were also similar reports of incidents in Alison Crescent on Tuesday, November 3. It is believed these incidents were linked to the Halloween period.

Residents in Whyte Close and Aspen Drive have also reported anti-social behaviour according to the PCSO report on Saturday, November 14.

Sgt Ian Swallow from Dover’s Kent Police said: “This relates to youths causing a general nuisance. Police are supporting the stores and working to identify the offenders.

“There have been a few sporadic calls about nuisance youths around the Whitfield area, but nothing major. The stone throwing youths have been dealt with and have apologised to the house owner.

“Residents are asked to report persistent nuisance or anti-social behaviour to Kent Police on 101.”

The next PCSO surgery will be held on Thursday, December 17, at the Whitfield Farmers’ Market, Sandwich Road, from 10am until 11am.
