Large numbers of police officers will be spotted in Dover today (Saturday) as a planned demonstration march by the English Defence League (EDL) gets underway.
Kent Police has warned this may cause some disruption to traffic in the town.
The march is expected to start at Dover Priory Railway Station around 1pm and then proceed along Folkestone Road, York Street and Townwall Street to Dover Eastern Docks where a protest will be held.
At the end of the protest, around 4pm, the march will return along Townwall Street to Woolcomber Street and Castle Street finishing at Dover Market Square.
A spokesman for Kent Police said: "There will be a large number of police officers in the town whose main role is to facilitate a peaceful protest, to keep the public safe and minimise the impact on local people going about their daily business.
"There may be temporary disruption to local roads and access to parking while the procession passes through and on Townwall Street while the protest takes place at the Eastern docks.
"Some disruption to businesses in the area of the protests is also possible and advice leaflets have been distributed to relevant areas giving further information."
