Police continue to investigate a man’s death after his body was found on railway tracks two months ago.
Emergency services were called to the line near the Port of Dover in the early hours of September 6, and a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives initially appealed for witnesses to come forward as they worked to establish the circumstances leading up to his death.
And while the investigation is on-going, an inquest has not yet been opened into his death.
A transport police spokesperson said: “Officers were called to the line near the Port of Dover at about 1.45am on September 6 to reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Paramedics also attended but sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious, however, inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances leading up to their death."
Commenting on the Dover death, a spokesperson for the Kent and Medway Coroner’s service said: "British Transport Police are still investigating so an inquest has not yet been opened."
