Police searching for a missing man say he is now "safe and well" after a four-hour road closure.
Jubilee Way in Dover was shut in both directions this evening, leading to long delays for motorists on the A2 and A20, with queues stretching back up the hill to the roundabout.
It is understood it was closed at about 5.15pm and came after reports that a man had gone missing from Goodnestone, between Canterbury and Deal.
Police were seen in the village this afternoon, along with the police helicopter.
A police spokesman said: "A road closure was enforced near the Port of Dover while officers conducted enquiries to find a man who had been reported missing from Goodnestone shortly after midday on Friday, March 5.
"At around 5.15pm, the man was located in Jubilee Way and it was necessary to enforce the closure to ensure public safety.
"By around 9.25pm, the man was safe and well with attending officers and he has since been handed into the care of medical professionals."
P&O Ferries tweeted to say that access to the port had reopened at about 9.15pm.
