The Duke of Edinburgh's visit is expected to last for one-and-a-half hours

THE Duke of Edinburgh is to visit Dover to mark the 400th anniversary of the port authority.

He will meet officials and staff and tour port facilities on Friday,February 17.

The Queen visited the port last year. Bob Goldfield, the port’s Chief Executive, said: "This visit is a celebration of the anniversary by the people who work for Dover Harbour Board."

The board was established on October 6, 1606, by Royal charter under King James I to maintain, administer and improve the harbour.
