A WOMAN from Dover struck lucky when she won more than £52,000 playing bingo.
Julie Worley, 34, who runs the Orange Tree public house in Dover with her husband Adrian, moved to the town seven months ago from the West Midlands.
She was at the Gala Bingo club in Biggin Street on Friday when she won the national bingo game prize of £50,000, plus a further regional prize of £2,000 and the club prize of £30.
The national prize was £100,000, but she had to share it with a woman in Falkirk, Scotland, who also completed a full house in 42 numbers, the lowest call in any of the 500 clubs playing nationwide.
Mr and Mrs Worley have two children, Keiran who is three, and six-year-old Kylie.
Mrs Worley said: "We used to play bingo occasionally in clubs where we lived previously. My husband is the keen one, he enjoys it more than I do. I have no idea yet what we will do with the money. It really hasn't sunk in yet."
