Police investigating a rape case have arrested a man.
A girl in her late teens had been allegedly attacked in a field near the A258 at Dover in September.
Kent officers now say that a 28-year-old man from the town was arrested last Thursday on suspicion of rape.
He has been released on police bail until December 23 pending further enquiries.
The girl had been attacked between 1.30am and 3am on Sunday, September 18 after she had been walking along Charlton Green in Dover.
Police had previously explained that she had there met a man and a woman who had offered to walk with her.
The woman left soon but the man continued to accompany the victim past Connaught Park and north along the A258 in Guston.
The victim said that during the walk she was then raped in a field near the A258.
The arrest had been made after police put out a new appeal for information.
