A long stretch of stationary traffic built up following road crashes tonight (Thursday).
They turned out to be on both carriageways of a road, involving five cars.
Police have since confirmed that they were called at 7.20pm.
A Kent Police spokesman said: "We were called to collisions on both carriageways of the A20 near Capel-Le-Ferne.
"A total of five cars were involved.
"Officers and ambulance crews attended and there were no serious injuries reported."
Police said that road closures were in place until around 10pm when all the vehicles had been recovered.
According to initial report traffic was at a standstill all the way westbound to the Alkham Valley Road in the Hawkinge and Alkham area.
A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance service said: "Ambulance crews attended the scene. A number of patients were assessed at the scene but none required further hospital treatment."
