Scooter rider dies after crash

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a fatal road accident today on the Folkestone Road near Dover.

At around 5.50am a car pulling out of the Plough public house was involved in a collision with a scooter.

The driver of the scooter, a 60-year-old man from Folkestone, was taken to the William Harvey Hospital at Ashford where he was pronounced dead at 7.25am.

The driver of the car, a 38-year-old man from Scotland, was arrested at the scene in relation to the incident and was later being questioned at Dover Police Station.
