A 26-year-old man has been arrested in Dover in connection with the murder of a woman who was sexually assaulted, stabbed and set on fire in Eastbourne.
Sussex Police have named the woman as Jennifer Kiely, 35, who was originally from South London but had been living in the Easterbourne area for sometime.
She was found dead in shelter in the Holywell area of the seaside town on Saturday. Her body was indentified through dental records.
Police confirmed that a man was arrested in Dover in connection with the enquiry. No other details have been released except that he had been living in Eastbourne.
DCI Tony O'Donnell, the Senior Investigating Officer, said: "We are remaining open minded but this man is certainly of interest to our enquiry."
