DOVER lifeboat crew were called out on Monday evening when a motor scooter went over the cliffs at Capel.

The person who reported it was not sure whether someone was with it at the time, and called the police and coastguard.

The lifeboat crew helped illuminate the area with flares and search lights, and used night-vision equipment to help with the search.

But after an hour, no-one had been found who could have been with the scooter, and the search was called off.
