Dover Eastern Docks had a security alert after a suspect object was found in a lorry.
Border Force officials raised the alarm yesterday (Sunday) and the Army was called in to investigate.
They confirmed that the object was a harmless piece of military memorabilia.
Port of Dover Police say they were alerted at 4.40pm.
A spokesman for the Port told the Mercury: "Members of the Border Force discovered the piece of military ordnance in a lorry that entered the port.
"We put a safety cordon in place as a precaution for a brief period.
"The army arrived and declared that the object was not a danger."
