DETECTIVES are appealing for information after a 21-year-old woman was the victim of a serious sexual assault.

Police say the incident happened in the early hours of Sunday in an access road off Malvern Road, near Folkestone Road, in Dover.

Police spokeswoman Sally Smith said: "We are trying to get a description of the offender and how the incident came about. Now people know of the incident, hopefully it will bring to light what people may have seen."
