A GIRL of 11 has been sexually assaulted at a Kent leisure centre.

Police officers say the incident occurred while the child was at the Dover Leisure Centre on Sunday, January 27.

The girl was with two male friends in the small pool at 2.30pm when they were approached by a man who started talking to them. He then allegedly grabbed the girl's leg and sexually abused her.

A 43-year-old man has been arrested and released on police bail while officers make further enquiries.

Police are appealing for any witnesses using the swimming pool at the time to please contact them.
