FOR the second week running Dover Sharks had to settle for a draw as they were held 22-22 by Tunbridge Wells in London 2 South.
The Sharks were rarely at their best in a match strewn with errors and coach Graham Tonks said: “We had a lot of possession but failed to take advantage of a hatful of opportunities. We made far too many errors and Tunbridge Wells punished us severely.
“Several of the players failed to perform to their potential and overall we were disappointing. I was, however, delighted with the performances of new boys Ben Vick and Mike O’Donnell.”
It was O’Donnell who created Dover’s opening try with a chip forward which enabled Mike Beaumont to go for a well-taken try.
Beaumont also kicked a penalty and added the conversion after Shane Moore had touched down in the second half.
Dover's third try followed a five-metre scrum which saw Vick power his way over for a try which was also converted.
Dover, who moved to sixth in the table, travel to Beccehamians on Saturday for a Kent Cup tie (2pm).
