Young people in Dover are being given practical advice this weekend as part of a campaign to keep them safe over Christmas.
Connexions Personal Advisers will be taking to the streets tomorrow (Friday) and on Monday to talk to young people on how to stay safe over the festive period.
They will also be given goodie bags which will include reflective key rings, spikeys (used to stop drinks being spiked), pens and information about online and personal safety, drugs and alcohol, health issues and contact details of licensed local taxi companies.
This countywide campaign, now in its third year, is supported by local organisations such as the NHS, Kent Police, Kent Fire and Rescue and Kent County Council and is linked to key national campaigns including Talk to Frank drugs awareness.
“As young people get into the festive spirit, they could find themselves in situations where they are vulnerable,” said Louise Beck, service development officer for Connexions Kent and Medway .
“This campaign is not about telling them what to do, but to raise their awareness of the risks involved and how to stay safe.”
Among the tips on how young people can keep
